varioFOLD: The pin-jointed manifold brings action to prototyping
varioFOLD is a new conception of manifolds, where the nozzles and injection points can be positioned variable. So one manifold can be used for different tools. This brings considerable advantages for prototyping.
Modular System: Unique Acquirement – Multiple Applications!
The arms of the manifold have a covering area of 30°. The nozzles can be moved step less in this area and can be exactly carried to the needed position for new parts. Even if new ad-ditional gating points are necessary, these can be mounted on the system later. The basic manifold of the modular system offers 10 and more connecting options. For the pipes and wiring varioFOLD is equipped with movable line ducts. So the pipes and wires justify nearly automatically when the arms are moved. Even customized special requirements like side arm solutions can be realized with the modular system without any problem.
With varioFOLD users drive costs down.
The movable arms are kept in the required position by allen screw. After solving the screws the arm can be moved and fixed in the new position by setting tight. If required PSG holds local trainings, to make sure that the reconstruction is made professionally. The system op-erates so simple that the reconstruction can be organized faster than a new order. Besides the time advantage varioFOLD brings considerable cost advantages, for you do not have to buy a new manifold for each application.
Sequential Moulding controlling the opening time of the needle
The opening time of the needle can be freely selected from 0,2 to 5 seconds. By the smooth switch of the successor nozzle the pressure loss of the forerunner nozzle is reduced (see picture above: Yellow curve shows the reinforces pressure loss without volume flow rate con-trol, red curve shows the optimized pressure profile)
With a volume flow controlled hot runner system a possible, short time melt stagnation is prevented and by this possible faults on the surface avoided. Also at foil or fabric back injec-tion varioFILL brings visible advantages of quality. The melt goes controlled into the form because of the vernier adjustment. This guarantees a smaller thermal force of the decorating material (fabric of foil). If the injection pressure is too high – even for a short time – because of a quick opening of the shut-off needle, e.g. the fabric can slightly be draught or damaged. Also the fine hairs of the fabric are compressed, which leads to a visible change luminous reflectance of the material.
An additional advantage of varioFILL is, that nozzles can be shut-down simply by closing the plug valve. A display, which is connected with the system following functions are visualized: temporally coordination, closing position, final position of the shut-off needle and the opening times of up to 16 needles. So the operator is able to replicate clearly a once optimized process exactly and easily. By a service page a quick and simple check of all switch-points is possible. The upload is possible by an USB-connection.
The excellent cost-value ratio is remarkable. The innovation of the ”simple” mechanical solu-tion of varioFILL is in the geometry and the details. This saves expensive and complicated electronic and training intensive software. varioFILL guarantees maximum results at minimum costs!

Remote Maintenance online
The new additional module, by which nearly all PSG hot runner controllers can be maintained worldwide, is called PSG remote.The functional principle is ready for connection and can be used at once. It works so simple and safe like a remote control. With PSG remote all users and service technicians are able to watch the operations in the hot runner controller and use all diagnosis functions, like temper-ature control and temperature regulation or assistance with procedural questions. In short: PSG remote provides all data to analyse and delete errors. So the PSG service technician is only one click away and can help at once or make a software update to the latest scope of operation.
PSG remote gives maximum security
The integrated firewall cares for optimal access pro-tection. By this users allow only identified and authorized PSG service technicians the remote access.
Visitors can test the system live on FAKUMA. The Fraunhofer Instituts für Chemische Tech-nologie ICT (booth B2-2104) will produce on its booth an ice scraper, which is protected against piracy of products. There profiTEMP and PSG remote are used. On the booth of PSG in hall A4 No. 4290 you gain deep insight into remote diagnosis and controlling functions of profiTEMP and PSG remote. Of course you also get an ice scraper.
